PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component having excellent insulation reliability while maintaining product dimensions. SOLUTION: A ceramic electronic component 100 includes a chip element 1 substantially in a rectangular parallelepiped shape with an internal electrode embedded therein; and a terminal electrode 3 electrically connected with the internal element while covering an end face 11 of the chip element 1, wherein the internal electrode is revealed, and part of sides 13, 15 orthogonal to the end face 11. The terminal electrode 3 includes, from a side of the chip element 1, a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer wherein the content of glass components is less than that of the first electrode layer, and the second electrode layer is provided to cover part of the first electrode layer on the sides 13, 15.
