<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately register and sort a sheet-like medium (hereinafter referred to as a sheet) by a simple constitution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sheet-like medium processing device performs operation for registering an end surface of a sheet of a succeeding part by immobilizing the other and moving one after registering the end surface of the sheet of one part by immobilizing one of a pair of registering members 102a and 102b and moving the other for performing registering operation for registering a position of a sheet end surface by moving registering parts 102a1 and 102a2 in the approaching direction by sandwiching two end surfaces of the sheet parallel to the sheet carrying direction. When performing the registering operation to a sheet bundle of the uppermost part after sorting, an end surface of the sheet bundle of the uppermost part is registered by a moving side registering member in a state that a lower end of an immovable side registering member contacts with the uppermost surface of the sheet bundle of a preceding part.
