PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there occurs an error between an actual reserve amount of a liquid reserved in a liquid container and a reserve amount of the liquid written in an information holding section of the liquid container. SOLUTION: In a liquid ejecting device, while a moving member is moved from a first position to a second position, after the connection of a supply hole is released, writing into the information holding section is carried out. The second position is provided in such a manner that a time period necessary for the movement of the moving member is equal to or longer than a time period necessary for the communication of information.
