PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that suppresses discharge of required developer from a developer outlet without preventing surplus developer from being discharged from the developer outlet. SOLUTION: The developing device 4 includes a developing container 22, a first conveying screw 25 having a screw blade 51 for conveying developer in the developing container 22, and a developer outlet 40 formed in the developing container 22 and used for discharging the developer, the screw blade 51 moved from an upper position to a lower position while facing the developer outlet 40. The developing device 4 satisfies a conditional formulaθ1>θ2, whereinθ1 is an angle formed by a vertical plane and a line connecting the inside position A of the upper end 41 of the developer outlet 40 and the outside position B of the lower end 42 of the developer outlet 40, andθ2 is an angle formed by a vertical plane and a line connecting the inside position C of the lower end 42 of the developer outlet 40 and the outside position D of the upper end 41 of the developer outlet 40.
