THE METHOD OF LINKING COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN SYSTEM WITH PRODUCT DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN REAL TIME

PURPOSE: A method for connecting product data management system with cad system in real time is provided to share cad design data from development beginning of the product by designers, thereby supporting the progress of a concurrent engineering design task. CONSTITUTION: A layout file of standards about product design is generated. The layout file is registered in a product data management system(S12). BOM(Fixed Bill Of Material) is registered in the product data management system(S14). The BOM is formed by the layout file and an assembly's file of a device within the layout file. The CAD data of a lower device is generated through a CAD system(S16). The CAD data is registered in the product data management system. Designers generates a unit and unit BOM(S18).
