<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generator capable of preventing water leakage from a steam discharge port. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The steam generator includes a housing 2 forming a hollow inside by joining a box-shaped metal body 2a having an opening surface on its one surface and a lid 2b for closing the opening surface, a water supply port 3 for supplying water into the housing 2, a steam generation heater 4 embedded in the body 2a for evaporating water supplied from the water supply port 3, a discharge port 8 opened above the steam generation heater 4 of the body part 2a for discharging steam produced by the steam generation heater 4, and a shielding part 7 extending from the lid 2b to the vicinity of an inner wall of the body 2a and arranged between the discharge port 8 and the steam generation heater 4.
