<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit various functions suitably without spoiling convenience. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a portable terminal, a function provided in the mobile terminal is locked using prestored first authentication information, new data about a predetermined function is registered temporarily while the function provided in the mobile terminal is locked, second authentication information is then input and if a determination is made that the second authentication information thus input matches the first authentication information, the function provided in the mobile terminal is unlocked, and when the function provided in the mobile terminal is unlocked while maintaining such a state that the data registered temporarily is not displayed until the function provided in the mobile terminal is unlocked, the data registered temporarily is made to transit from the non-display state to the displayable state temporarily and then the data registered temporarily and transited to the displayable state is registered or discarded.
