Method and apparatus for transmission framing with integrity in a wireless communication system

A method for framing packets in a wireless transmission system supporting broadcast transmissions includes generating at least one variable length Internet Protocol IP layer packet (2002) for transmission. A trailer (2008) is appended to the at least one IP layer packet (2002) to form at least one integrity layer packet. The trailer (2008) is configured to validate integrity of packets. The at least one integrity layer packet is packed into a fixed length packing layer packet (2016), which is transmitted.
