PURPOSE: A flame-retardant expandable rubber and a producing method thereof are provided to manufacture a flame resisting mat, and to prevent the flame propagation. CONSTITUTION: A flame-retardant expandable rubber contains 15~34wt% of base resin, 53~70wt% of inorganic flame retardant, 5~10 parts of expander, 2.5~4.5 parts of blend oil, and 0.1~2wt% of cross-linking agent. The base resin is selected from the group consisting of ethylene vinyl acetate, ethylene methyl acrylate, an ethylene propylene terpolymer, ethylene-propylene-diene-methylene, a propylene oxide, polyethylene, and an ethylene copolymer.
