摘要 <p>Provided is a novel manufacturing technology for forming lasers tunable in a broad wavelength range from the ultraviolet region to the visible region by introducing light-emitting oxygen gas pores in crystals of ionic oxides, such as magnesia (MgO) or alumina (Al2O3). By heat-treating ionic oxide crystals, such as magnesia (MgO), alumina (Al2O3), silicon dioxide (SiO2), or oxide crystals having a three-component composition of magnesia (MgO)-alumina (Al2O3)-silicon dioxide (SiO2), under a high vacuum/reduction atmosphere of 10-3 (Pa) or less at a temperature lower than the melting point of the oxide crystals, many light-emitting oxygen gas pores are introduced in the ionic oxide crystals, and laser oscillation oxide crystals for a broad wavelength range from the ultraviolet region to the visible region are formed.</p>
