PURPOSE: A smart card and an authentication system which have a USB are provided to be used in an electronic money, the authentication system and a user confirmation and a security system by using a USB interface. CONSTITUTION: A smart card(40) comprises a USB(Universal Serial Bus) interface unit, a CPU and a storage device. A system A(90) includes the USB interface unit, a computing unit, a database and a communication unit. Each kind of data stored in the smart card is transmitted to the system A through the USB interface by adopting an encoding algorithm. The system A or a system B(100) connected to the system A performs mutual authentication by transmitting authentication data and storage data to the smart card. |
