<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of preventing a printed matter from being taken away by someone else even if not staying beside a printer during printing. <P>SOLUTION: This printer has a security mode for printing confidential information, and a sensor for detecting recovery of the printed matter from an ejection tray, detects the recovery of all the printed matters after the printing of other usual printing mode is finished, so as to start security printing, when printed in the security mode, and does not start the next printing until the printed matter printed by the security mode is recovered.
