<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound type ophthalmic apparatus housing an intraocular pressure measuring part and the other eye characteristic measuring part inside the casing of an apparatus body, reducing the moving amount of the apparatus body as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the ophthalmic apparatus 10, the apparatus body 12 holding the intraocular pressure measuring part 22 and an eye characteristic measuring part 21 switchably at a position corresponding to an inspection light axis Le inside the casing 12a is supported freely movably by a body driving mechanism 18 on a fixed rack 11. In the apparatus body 12, the intraocular pressure measuring part 22 can be moved to an intraocular pressure measuring position Sp2 and also be moved back from the intraocular pressure measuring position to the inner part of the casing 12a.
