PROCESS FOR PREPARING POLYARYLENE SULFIDE HAVING LOWER CONTENT OF ISOLATED IODINE

PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of polyarylene sulfide is provided to effectively reduce the content of free iodine inside the polyarylene sulfide for preventing the corrosion of a post-process facility. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of polyarylene sulfide comprises the following steps: melt-mixing a composition containing a diiodo aromatic compound, solid sulfur, and a polymerization terminator; polymerizing the molten mixture from the previous step for 1~30 hours to form the polyarylene sulfide; and heat-setting the produced polyarylene sulfide by maintaining the temperature into 100~260 deg C.
