The method involves blocking a side of a lens blank without bringing an intermediate layer of a protective foil in contact with a special plastic. The special plastic is hardened by utilization of preset measures, and the special plastic is fixedly connected with the lens blank by surface forces. The lens blank is connected with a prefabricated lens carrier (1), and the special plastic is removed again from the lens blank after blocking by simple process steps without changing surface of the special plastic. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing eyeglass lenses.
