<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the allowable range of an angle configured of the instructing direction of a reading apparatus to a reading object face and the reading object face. <P>SOLUTION: A reading apparatus includes light sources 102<SB>1</SB>and 102<SB>2</SB>, and the rays of light are emitted by selecting the first combination of the light source 102<SB>1</SB>to turn on with the light source 102<SB>2</SB>to turn off and the second combination of the light source 102<SB>2</SB>to turn on with the light source 102<SB>1</SB>to turn off and the third combination of both the light source 102<SB>1</SB>and the light source 102<SB>2</SB>to turn on so that the same combination can be prevented from being continued. The continuation of the same combination results in the continuation of such a state that when the shortage or excess of the quantity of light is generated in certain specific combination, accurate reading is disturbed.
