<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial fan and an outdoor unit for an air conditioner, improving air volume without performing high rotation in low blade height, reducing noise, and enhancing fan efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In this axial fan 20 having a plurality of blades 21 integrally formed around a hub 22, a cross-sectional shape along the rotating direction R of each blade 21 has swelling portions 51, 53 swelling to the vacuum surface side 62 of the blade 21 and a swelling portion 52 swelling to the positive pressure surface side 61 of the blade 21 alternately in at least three portions, and a line equally dividing the swelling portions 51, 53 swelling to the negative surface side 62 and the swelling portion 52 swelling to the positive pressure surface side 61 is regarded as a blade neutral line 40.
