AUDIO DECODER

An audio decoder free of aliasing noise and performing computation with reduced computational complex. The audio decoder comprises a decoder (102) and an analysis filter bank (110) both for creating a first frequency band signal (x) for a down-mix signal (M) from a coded down-mix signal, a channel expanding section (130) for converting the frequency band signal (x) created by the analysis filter bank (110) into output signals (y) for audio signals of N channels by using BC information, a combining filter bank (140) for subjecting the created output signals (y) of N channels to band-combining and thereby converting the output signals (y) into audio signals of N channels along the time axis, and an aliasing noise detecting section (120) for detecting aliasing noise in the first frequency band signal (x). The channel expanding section (130) further prevents aliasing noise from being contained in the output signals (y) by using the information detected by the aliasing noise detecting section (120).
