<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of diagnosis of deterioration states by grasping deterioration causes of an exhaust emission control catalyst in relation to a catalyst diagnosis device. <P>SOLUTION: This catalyst diagnosis device 4 is provided in an exhaust gas passage of an engine E and diagnoses the deterioration states of a storage material adsorbing and desorbing harmful components in exhaust gas and the exhaust emission control catalyst 1 carrying metal catalyst converting harmful components. The device is provided with a scattering quantity detection means 2 detecting scattering quantity of storage material scattering from the exhaust emission control catalyst 1 and a diagnosis means 3 diagnosing the deterioration state based on scattering quantity detected by the scattering quantity detection means 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
