PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacker crane for shortening a cycle time for carrying a cargo and an automated warehouse having the stacker crane. SOLUTION: The stacker crane 2 is provided for transferring a carrier 6 to a plurality of shelves 7 by moving along a front face of the plurality of shelves 7 for storing the carrier 6, and has a crane arm 3 for transferring the carrier 6 with the opposed shelf by advancing in the orthogonal direction to the horizontal direction and the vertical direction, a travel carriage 4 capable of moving the crane arm 3 in the horizontal direction, a lifting mast 5 capable of lifting the crane arm 3 in the vertical direction, and a controller 8 for simultaneously performing travel operation and advancing operation by the crane arm 3 after finishing lifting operation by finishing the lifting operation in the first place among the travel operation and the lifting operation when moving the crane arm 3 to a position opposed to a transfer mate shelf.
