<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch state detector capable of achieving reduction in heat generation amount and reduction in necessary capability of a power supply unit by reducing the amount of current consumed in a pull-up/pull-down circuit, and to provide a potential connection circuit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of connecting parts 21, 22 for performing connection and disconnection of a power supply potential are provided on a pull-up circuit (potential connecting circuit) 20. The first connecting part 21 connects switches 51, 52 to the power supply potential via resistors R1, R2, and the second connecting part 22 connects switches 53, 54 to the power supply potential via resistors R3, R4. A connection signal generating part 23 generates a plurality of connection signals for connection at different timings and/or different cycles and outputs the generated signals to each of connecting parts 21, 22.
