PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing highly pure DST, having an excellent effect of easily producing highly pure diisopropenylbenzene (DST) even using crude di(2-hydroxyisopropyl)benzene (DCA) containing a large amount of impurities, and producing highly pure DST at a high yield using a reactor having high volume efficiency or using a reactor of a smaller volume, with a small amount of a catalyst, and using a simple distillation process. SOLUTION: The method of producing highly pure diisopropenylbenzene (DST) includes the following processes (1), (2), and (3). (1) A crystallization process: a process of crystallizing DCA in a solution comprising crude DCA to obtain highly pure solid DCA, (2) a dehydration reaction process: a process of subjecting the highly pure solid DCA obtained in the crystallization process to a dehydration reaction process in the presence of an acid catalyst and a solvent to produce a reaction liquid comprising DST, and (3) a distillation process: a process of distilling the reaction liquid produced in the dehydration reaction process to obtain highly pure DST.
