PURPOSE: A window extension device using a buffer memory is provided to extend the number of window up to very large number by a Z buffer memory and a system. CONSTITUTION: A window confirmation comparator(22) compares the first part of a stored number of a window confirmation register(18) and the first part of a window confirmation number of a window confirmation memory(20). Z buffer memory stores information expressing the depth of information which is displayed on an output display. Z buffer comparator compares information depth of a Z buffer register and the Z buffer memory. A window extension comparator compares the second part of a window extension register number and the second part of window confirmation number of the Z buffer memory.
