The hurdle has two legs (1, 1a) formed as support constructions, a horizontal cross element (3) arranged between the legs, and a height adjustment device for adjusting height of the cross element. The legs are connected with each other in a region of the cross element below a straddle angle. The legs are connected with each other by a scissor-action lever, a hinge point (2) and a pin joint. An elastic support plate (9) is provided at lower ends of portions of the legs. The cross element is integrally formed with the legs, which are formed from plastic material or aluminum.
