<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator system capable of improving safety by regulating the operation of an escalator when a passenger contacts a simple and high durability fixed protective plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This escalator system 10 includes a movable warning plate 14 having a contact detecting part 27, the fixed protective plate 13, two detecting parts 18 respectively arranged on the upper surface of an installation part 22 and detecting that a force is applied to the fixed protective plate 13, and a control part 19 for regulating the operation of the escalator 11 based on detecting information by the two detecting part 18. The control part 19 includes a determining means 28 for determining whether or not to regulate the operation of the escalator 11 based on the force detected by the detecting parts 18, an operation regulating means 29 for regulating the operation of the escalator 11 when determining that the operation of the escalator 11 should be regulated by the determining means 28, and a warning means 30.
