<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for setting fast Fourier transform starting position which move a fast Fourier transform starting position on the basis of a result of synchronization acquisition in the cyclic prefix direction by the amount of predefined sample offset to perform fast Fourier transform. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device for setting fast Fourier transform starting position includes: a starting position determination section which moves the fast Fourier transform starting position on the basis of the result of synchronization acquisition in the cyclic prefix direction by the amount of predefined sample offset; and a fast Fourier transform section which receives the fast Fourier transform starting position moved by the starting position determination section to perform fast Fourier transform.
