PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition accompanied with a synergistic method controlling with an insecticide for cockroaches and/or spiders. SOLUTION: A synergistic effect can be obtained by combining bifenthrin and fipronil. Bifenthrin and fipronil exist in about 10:1 to about 1:1 in a weight over weight ratio and at least about 100 ppm bifenthrin is used. The cockroach is selected from Blattella germanica and Periplaneta americana. To control spiders, e.g. black house spiders, a synergistically effective amount of bifenthrin and that of fipronil are applied all together or sequentially and in an arbitrary order and the weight ratio of bifenthrin to fipronil is about 2:1 to about 1:1.
