PURPOSE: An antibacterial gene and peptide isolated from Psacothea hilaris larva is provided to strong antibacterial activity and to use as an antibiotic, food antiseptic, and cosmetic product preserver. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial and antifungal peptide isolated from Psacothea hilaris has a sequence of sequence number 1. A gene of the antibacterial and antifungal peptide is denoted by sequence number 2. A medicinal composition for antibacterial and antifungal agent contains the antibacterial and antifungal peptides.
