PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document carrying device and an image forming device capable of turning on and off driving of a separately paper feeding part, without using an electromagnetic clutch. SOLUTION: This automatic document carrying device has the separately paper feeding part 200 for separating and feeding a plurality of documents placed on a document placing table one by one to a reading position, a driving motor 100 for driving the separately paper feeding part 200, a rocking gear 102 for arranging an intermitting means for selectively intermitting the driving to the separately paper feeding part 200 by the driving motor 100 so as to be capable of meshing with an output gear 101 driven by the driving motor 100, a rocking arm 120 rockably holding the rocking gear 102, a regulating member 122 for rocking the rocking gear 102 via the rocking arm 120 between a connecting position for meshing with the output gear 101 and a separate position for separating from the output gear 101, and a solenoid 121 for operating the regulating member 122.
