<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmitting plate which can improve its working efficiency when it is used as a trace base while it has a simple structure and can be made at a low cost, and furthermore, which can be used for writing a menu for a restaurant and for displaying or the like of a poster for advertisement or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plate part of approximately 1/2 of a sheet of rectangular synthetic resin plate with light transmitting properties is made into a light source side plate part prepared by providing a light source in which a plurality of light emitting diodes are arranged in parallel and a light scattering plate for scattering the light from the light source approximately equally on the plate face. The other plate part of approximately 1/2 of the synthetic resin plate is made into a cover plate part for covering approximately whole face of one side face of the light source side plate part provided with the light source and the light scattering plate. The cover plate part is formed by bending the boundary part between the light source side plate part and itself, so that between the cover plate part and the light source side plate part, a manuscript sheet or a sheet applied with characters, drawings, patterns or the like can be placed therebetween.
