PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate excellent in water resistance and adhesiveness between a protective film and a polarizing film. SOLUTION: In the polarizing plate, on at least one surface of the film, a protective film having a contact angle of 20 to 90 degrees with water on an adhesion surface, is layered across an adhesive layer essentially composed of a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a saponification degree of 30 to 70 mol%.
