<p>The device has a setting device for setting a target action time value that is assigned to a set of surrounding parameters. A machine unit comprises an actuator element for executing an action on basis of the predetermined target action time value, where the device detects another action time value that is assigned to another set of surrounding parameters with which the machine unit is controlled. The device updates the setting device on basis of the latter set of the surrounding parameters and the latter action time value.
