<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of avoiding the leakage of secret information without putting excessive burdens on the user. <P>SOLUTION: When an operating situation whether the printing job of the image forming apparatus is usable or not is acquired through an operating situation acquisition part 73, a determination part 74 for determining the necessity/unnecessity of private-printing determines the necessity/unnecessity of setting private-printing with respect to the new printing job based on the acquired operating situation.
