<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact having a sufficiently high polishing speed and a sufficiently smooth air bearing face comparing with a conventional AlTic sintered compact. <P>SOLUTION: The sintered compact 2 consists of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>110 and a compound having chemical formula (1): TiC<SB>x</SB>O<SB>y</SB>120 (1) (wherein, x+y≤1, x>0, and 0.3<y≤0.6). The sintered compact 2 includes Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>110, TiC and TiO<SB>2</SB>. A producing method of the sintered compact 2 has a step to hot-press raw material powders having a containing ratio of TiO<SB>2</SB>of 12-24 mass% at a pressure of less than 100 kgf/cm<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
