摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instruction set suitable for context adaptive binary arithmetic decoding processing. <P>SOLUTION: A CABAC Bin decoding instruction is decoded by a coprocessor instruction decoder 310. The Bin decoding instruction comprises a conditional execution function and whether to execute the instruction is controlled in accordance with a previous Bin decoding result. Furthermore, the Bin decoding instruction comprises a conditional addition function and a context index to be used for the instruction is switched in accordance with the Bin decoding result right before. A context parameter register 330 holds therein 16 pieces of context parameters, at a maximum, necessary for Bin decoding. A Bin buffer 340 holds therein past four decoding results. In the case where a Bin matching instruction is decoded, at a write-back data generator 360, a condition code is generated in accordance with contents of the Bin buffer 340.
