PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a head so as not to be inclined in a head support mechanism provided with a waveguide. SOLUTION: In the head support mechanism including a plate like elastic supporting member 6 having, at a part thereof, a slider joining surface 62 on which a slider 3 having a magnetic head 2 at an end part thereof is mounted, the waveguide 4 is disposed at the center of the slider joining surface 62 of a flexure 6 to be the elastic supporting member along the longitudinal direction of the slider joining surface 62, the waveguide 4 is configured to be extended from one end of the side opposite to the magnetic head 2 and auxiliary members 12a and 12b having the same thickness as that of the waveguide 4 are disposed in parallel with the waveguide 4 at both side end parts in the longitudinal direction of the slider joining surface 62.
