<p>In the field of tissue anomaly treatment there is a need for a compression garment which is more comfortable to wear than conventional compression garments and avoids causing a wearer pain and irritation. A compression garment (10), for use in the treatment of tissue anomalies, comprises a garment body (12) formed from one or more fabric panels (14). At least one fabric panel (14) includes an isotropic elasticized warp knitted fabric (16). A method of forming a compression garment (10) comprises the steps of obtaining anatomical data (L, C") relating to an exposed body surface (42) including at least one region having a tissue anomaly, translating the anatomical data (L, C") into a two- dimensional representation (48) of the exposed body surface (42), dividing the two- dimensional representation (48) into a plurality of discrete elongate strips (50) which extend from a first side (52) of the two-dimensional representation (48) to a second side (54) thereof, reducing the length of each elongate strip (50) by a predetermined factor according to the initial length of the elongate strip (50) so as to form a modified two- dimensional representation (56) of the exposed body surface (42), and forming a fabric panel (14) having the same shape as the modified two-dimensional representation (56) from an isotropic fabric (16). An isotropic elasticized warp knitted fabric (18) for use in medicine, an isotropic elasticized warp knitted fabric (18) for use in the treatment of tissue anomalies, and use of an isotropic elasticized warp knitted fabric (18) in the manufacture of a medicament for treating tissue anomalies.</p> |
