It is intended to provide a method whereby a natural protein or a recombinant protein can be produced at a high yield. A method of producing a polypeptide comprising culturing cells which strongly express alanine aminotransferase and have a DNA encoding the desired polypeptide transferred thereinto and thus allowing the cells to produce the desired polypeptide.
