<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining wall block for planting, which prevents the block from lowering structural strength without diminishing effective utilization of road width at a lower end of a slope face and effective utilization of adjacent land area at an upper end of the slope face. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The retaining wall block for planting is constructed as follows: a front wallboard part and a rear wallboard part are disposed in parallel; the front wallboard part and the rear wallboard part are integrally connected with a horizontal beam; a projection part for joining is upwardly formed on the top face of the upper side horizontal beam; a groove part for joining engaged with the projection part for joining between a rearward horizontal board part located at a lower-end rear side of the front wallboard part and a forward horizontal board part located at a lower-end front side of the rear wallboard part; a top face for joining of the front wallboard part is formed on a forwardly rising inclined plane; a lower face for joining of the front wallboard part is formed on the forwardly rising inclined plane; a pocket part for planting is formed which is a lower side portion of the front wallboard part and upwardly thrusting into a crossing part of the rearward horizontal board part from the lower face for joining of the front wallboard part; and the pocket part for planting is communicated with a planting soil storage part between the front wallboard part and the rear wallboard part.
