PURPOSE: A method for preparing machaeriol derivative having various pharmacological activation is provided to effectively produce the deriavatives with high yield. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing machaeriol derivative of general formula Ia or Ib comprises: a step of condensing 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde of structural formula 6 with phosphonate of general formula IV to obtain 3,5-dimethoxy-trans-stilbene derivative of general formula III; a step of reacting the derivative of general formula III with pyridine hydrochloric acid to obtain pinosylbin compound of general formula II; and a step of performing optically active reaction of the pinosylbin compound with (S)-(-)-Citronellal, 10a or (R)-(+)-Citronellal, 10b.
