Disclosed is a communication device equipped with: a first wireless communication unit that communicates wirelessly with a first wireless device on a first wireless network; a beacon transmission unit that periodically transmits a beacon signal to the first wireless device via the first wireless communication unit; a period determination unit that determines a transmission-permissible period during which data transmission by the first wireless device is permitted; a notification unit that notifies the first wireless device via the beacon signal of a control signal designating the transmission-permissible period; and a power management unit that performs control to stop the supply of power to the first wireless communication unit during idle communication periods other than the transmission-permissible period and the transmission timing period of the beacon signal.
