<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sterilizing raw water which can be utilized for sterilization of water for all purposes, produces no harm substance such as trihalomethane and chloric acid by sterilization treatment, can cope with treatment of a lot of raw water too, contains no excessive component but sterilization components, can be produced at a job site and can be safely and inexpensively utilized. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An electrolytically treated solution of dilute hydrochloric acid obtained by electrolysis of only raw liquid of high concentration is added to the raw water.
