PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device achieving excellent image display. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 100, on the basis of two thresholds of high brightness and low brightness, a range where brightness of a pixel in a sub-display area S is corrected, and a range where it is not corrected, are sectioned. Regarding brightness corresponding to a range between the high brightness threshold and the low brightness threshold, proportional distribution correction is performed according to brightness of each pixel.
