PURPOSE: A laundry processing apparatus and a method of controlling the same are provided to enable a course change even after a cycle started and to eliminate the need to turn on/off power for a course change, by initializing the preset course through a reset unit. CONSTITUTION: A method of controlling a laundry processing apparatus comprises the following steps. The power is applied(S1) and in this state, course setting is initialized(S2). After detecting whether there is a user input, a course is set according to the user input(S3). According to the set course, an operation is made(S5). Whether a reset request for initializing the set course exists is detected(S6). If yes, a course set is initialized after returning to the initial set stage.
