<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing tar which can easily peel away tar firmly stuck to the inside of an exhaust path discharging gas produced from a core arranged at the inside of a die, and to provide a tool for removing the tar. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for removing the tar includes: a tar removal process S01 where the tar stuck to the inner circumferential face of a tight plug 10 discharging gas produced from a shell core 5 arranged at the inside of the die 1 to the outside of the die 1, is removed; and a tar carbonization stage S02 where combustion flame 31 is introduced into the tight plug 10 using a preheating burner 30 jetting the combustion flame 31, and the tar stuck to the inner circumferential face of the tight plug 10 is burnt and carbonized.
