PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plating pretreatment apparatus for a multi-cylinder block and a method therefor by which a uniform plating pretreatment can be applied to cylinder inner circumferential surfaces of a plurality of cylinders. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for plating pretreatment of multi-cylinder block (electrolytic etching device 72, anodic oxidation device 73), one end side of the inner circumferential surface of each cylinder of the multi-cylinder block provided with the plurality of cylinders is sealed, treatment liquid is guided into the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder and the plating pretreatment of the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder is performed by the action of the electrode disposed opposite to the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder, wherein at least one side of power source devices 92, 93 which supply electricity to the cylinder blocks and electrodes and feed pumps 84, 87 which feed treatment liquid between the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder and the electrode is disposed each cylinder.
