The present invention relates to: a composition for promoting differentiation of myoblast comprising orotic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a method for promoting differentiation of the myoblast comprising a step of treating the orotic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the myoblasts; a method for preparing differentiated myoblasts comprising a step of differentiating the myoblast by treating the orotic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the myoblasts; a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating muscle weakness related diseases comprising the orotic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a food composition for preventing or alleviating the muscle weakness related diseases; and a composition for strengthening muscle. The orotic acid according to the present invention promotes differentiation of the myoblast and forms root cap, thereby preventing muscle weakness and effectively improving muscle function. Therefore, the pharmaceutical composition comprising the same can be useful for preventing or treating the muscle weakness related diseases. |
