Disclosed is a complementary peptide to a major immunogenic region of an acetylcholine receptor involved in myasthenia gravis having at least one optionally substituted hydrocarbon groups, preferably a 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzyl group. Further disclosed is a therapeutic composition comprising the peptide described above and an additional complementary peptide to a T-cell recognition site of the acetylcholine receptor as well as at least one carrier.
