<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding method capable of increasing the welding strength at an end of a welded section of plates when executing the friction stir welding of the vertically superposed plates, and a material to be welded by the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A second welding plate 20 is superposed on an upper surface of a first welding plate 10. When a probe of a friction stir welding apparatus is rotatably moved on the second welding plate 20 from a starting point to a terminating point on a welding line W which is virtually set on the second welding plate 20, the first welding plate 10 and the second welding plate 20 are plastically fluidized and welded to each other. Thereafter, by returning on the welding line, a welded section of the first welding plate 10 and the second welding plate 20 is again plastically fluidized to form a welded material 1. Since a blanking aperture 30 is arranged at the position avoiding an end of a welded section of the welded material 1, generation of any fatigue crack at the end of the welded section of the welded material 1 is suppressed, and the welding strength of the welded material 1 is increased.
