<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high spatial and temporal resolution, good image quality and good coverage of a visual field by using a standard detector or a smaller detector. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a technique for imaging a field (72) of view using an X-ray source (12) including two or more emission points (70). The two or more emission points (70) may be independently operated. Independent operation of the two or more emission points (70) is performed in accordance with a list of commands that specifies the operation of the emission points (70). According to one embodiment, the list of commands is stored in a sequence buffer (32).
